AUSTIN (KXAN) - A woman allegedly assaulted a man in a wheelchair with a garden hose in East Austin.

On March 11 at 1 p.m., police arrived at a house where they had heard a suspicious person was loitering on someone's lawn. A woman, later identified as Monica Hernandez, was taken into custody after becoming irate with the police officer after the accusation.

According to a witness, Hernandez, 33, started watering a stranger's lawn. Then she walked to the porch of the stranger's house and started cursing at him, according to reports. The witness said he saw Hernandez walk inside the house with the water hose and started spraying it at the resident, who is wheelchair-bound. Hernandez also started kicking the victim in his legs, according to the witness.

Police interviewed the victim and found out that the victim had a stroke five years ago and is paralyzed on one side of his body and has a prosthetic right leg.
