Suspect at the hospital in police custody

TAYLOR, TEXAS (KXAN) - Taylor Police are investigating the shooting death of a 40 year old Taylor woman after discovering her body early Saturday morning.

According to the Taylor Police Department, officers responded to the scene of the shooting after receiving a suspicious person’s call in the 400 block of Old Thorndale Rd around 1:20 a.m.

Police arrived at the residence to find the door open and the victim deceased, of an apparent gun shot wound. Also inside of the residence police found a 44 year old male subject with injuries from an apparent fight.

The man, described as a suspect, was taken to the hospital where he remains in police custody.

Police have not identified the victim, pending the notification of family, or the suspect. Taylor Police say the suspect’s name will be released when he is formally charged.

Taylor Police were assisted on scene by the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office crime scene unit and will have continued assistance from Sheriff’s deputies , Hutto police, the D.A.’s office and the Texas Rangers.
