First taxi robbery suspect

AUSTIN (KXAN) - Cab companies are on alert Monday after two separate robberies of taxi drivers took place. The Austin Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying suspects involved in robbing cab drivers. Two suspects robbed cab drivers in the early morning hours of Jan. 4 and Jan. 8 in two separate, but related, incidents.
A weapon was used in both robberies to take money and other property from the cab drivers. The robberies happened at 2401 S. Lakeshore Blvd. and on Pecan Springs Road , near East 51st Street and Springdale Road.
APD said both suspects appear to be slender, tall, medium-skin-toned black males in their early-to-mid 20s. One of the suspects has a tattoo on the left side of his neck, and the name "Tony" was used by one of the suspects. Officials said they believe the suspects frequent the Riverside Drive, Manor Road and East 51st Street areas.
