AUSTIN (KXAN) - Police charged a man with aggravated assault after threatening a neighbor with a sword and throwing beer cans at his front door.
Zachary Fauss, 24, was believed to be intoxicated when he began arguing with a man over a beer.
Police responded on Tuesday to the apartments at 2001 South Interstate 35 following a 911 call. When police arrived, Fauss was twirling around a baseball bat in the doorway of his apartment.
The suspect ignored several requests to put the bat down, but finally complied when an officer drew his Taser. Officers placed him handcuffs and spoke to the man who made the 911 call.
The 911 call came from a man who had approached Fauss to ask him to turn down his loud music, but Fauss refused. The man was walking away when he noticed Fauss standing in his doorway holding a Samurai sword and taunting him. Fauss was trying to fight him, but the man retreated in fear of his safety.
At that time the neighbor called police. Fauss then threw beer cans at the neighbor's door while the man met with police. According to the victim, Fauss owed him money for the purchase of a beer.
Fauss was arrested early Wednesday morning and was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He is being held on a $10,000 bond.
