AUSTIN (KXAN) - Authorities have arrested two men after another man claimed he was kidnapped, robbed, stabbed and beaten before being dumped in Downtown Austin, Wednesday.
The Williamson County Sheriffs Office has charged Teodoro Torres, 28, and Bruce Chavez, 27, with aggravated robbery in connection with the incident.
The victim told police he was leaving the garage of a home in the 1000 block of Collie Path in Round Rock when Torres and Chavez told him he could not go. That is when the victim said the two men stabbed him in the chest, tackled him and forced him into a car.
Police located Torres at the home on Collie Street and arrested him. Torres told police he did not commit the crime, but admitted to drinking and doing drugs at the home Wednesday with Chavez and the victim.
When police contacted Chavez, he claimed he was driving around with Torres and the victim, but did not participate in a robbery. Police said Chavez agreed to allow them to search his vehicle. Officers said they found some blood evidence inside. Chavez was then arrested.
Round Rock police, who initially responded to the call, said the stories between the victim and the two suspects are not matching up.
During a Thursday telephone interview, Round Rock police spokesperson Eric Poteet said that at the very least, someone could end up being charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Poteet also said the victim waited a while to seek medical attention for the two stab wounds to his chest as well as cuts and bruises on his body.
