AUSTIN (KXAN) - Police charged Mindy Montford, who previously ran for Travis County district attorney, with public intoxication on Sixth Street on Saturday.
Montford, 38, was arrested at 2:15 a.m. on Sixth Street. She was seeing a band downtown with some friends from high school. It was then, according to Montford's attorney and law partner Pat McNelis, that the driver of a car she was riding in hit a pipe in an alleyway. The police pulled the car over just seconds later.
Montford got out of the car and "advised her friend of his rights." The driver and Montford were arrested for public intoxication.
