DEL VALLE, Texas (KXAN) - A school administrator recovered a gun from a student's locker on Monday at Del Valle High School .
The school resource officer on duty, also a Travis County sheriff's deputy, confiscated the weapon.
Following an initial investigation, the sheriff's deputy filed charges on three people for possession of a firearm in places where weapons are prohitibted, which is a third-degree felony.
The weapon is described as a small-caliber semiautomatic pistol, and officials found bullets with the weapon.
Abiel Cedano and Ernest Cruz, both 17, will be charged as adults. The third suspect, however, is a juvenile and was taken to the Gardner-Betts Juvenile Detention Facility.
The students involved have been suspended, according to Del Valle ISD. The school district said Monday that it planned on notifying all parents Monday afternoon regarding the suspension and discovery.
The investigation continues, and other charges are possible.
