AUSTIN (KXAN) - A man accused of stabbing another man outside a fraternity party last week was asked to leave the party because he was not a member, an arrest warrant revealed Monday.

Austin police said a man was stabbed in the stomach by Austin Rhoads, 21, during a fight outside the Zeta Psi frat house around 2 a.m. Thursday.

Police said Rhoads stabbed the victim after he was slapped near the gate of the frat house. He then fled the scene with a friend. Others at the frat house called 911.

Police were able to quickly locate Rhoads near Guadalupe and 34th streets where he was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. His friend who was still in the car was not arrested.

Zeta Psi members could not confirm whether the victim was a fraternity member.

The man that was stabbed was rushed to a local hospital. Police said his injuries are not life-threatening.
