AUSTIN (KXAN) - A woman wanted for stealing from the Lutheran Social Services non-profit organization stole money from another non profit organization in 1999.
Lisa Dorhauer, 55, is wanted on theft charges after she was indicted in November 2010 for stealing $48,000 from Lutheran Social Services while working as a paralegal and administrative assistant from 2008-2010.
In 1999, Dorhauer also pleaded no contest to misdemeanor theft after money was discovered missing from the Challenger Program at Round Rock Little League. Dorhauer was on the Board of Directors and was responsible for the money for the program that helps disabled children participate in baseball.
"The money wasn't adding up and so there were suspicions," said former Williamson County Constable Gary Griffin, who also served on the board with Dorhauer in 1998.
Griffin arrested Dorhauer when Round Rock authorities were unable to locate her to serve an arrest warrant in late 1998.
Dorhauer served two years probation on the charge and was ordered not to be involved with non profit organizations during that time as a condition of her probation, according to Williamson County court documents.
She also pled guilty in 1994 to theft by check. Court documents show she paid restitution in both cases and successfully completed her probation. The deferred sentences resulted in no convictions on her record.
"Theft, theft, theft- I mean, even in baseball, you only get three strikes and then you're out," said Griffin, who believes Dorhauer's sentences should not have been deferred. "She didn't learn her lesson."
Travis County authorities are still searching for Dorhauer to serve an arrest warrant in the latest charges against her.
