Caldwell County (KXAN) - A City of Austin animal protection officer is in trouble after being accused of stealing cattle.
A special ranger for the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association arrested Robert Scott Kollman, 47. A spokesperson for the TSCRA says Kollman confessed to stealing six calves and one cow from a rancher in Caldwell County on August 7.
Kollman is accused of selling the cattle at the Lockhart Livestock Auction. Three of the calves have since been returned to the rancher.
A statement from the TSCRA says that Kollman turned himself in to the Caldwell County Sheriff's Office after a warrant for his arrest was issued. He faces one count of livestock theft - a state jail felony.
If convicted, Kollman could face up to two years in jail.
