AUSTIN (KXAN) - Police are looking for the suspect or suspects involved in two carjackings on Sunday night.
The first carjacking was reported just before 6 p.m. in East Austin. A man allegedly pulled a gun on the driver of a GMC Yukon. The driver told police the suspect fired a shot before they were forced out of the vehicle.
The second carjacking happened about five hours later at 10700 N. Lamar Blvd. The victim said the suspect fired a gun when getting out of a Suburban.
"The victims have only seen one person and given us a very vague description," said Cpl. Scott Perry, with the Austin Police Department. "The other person is driving the suburban. No one has been able to see him because the windows are so dark."
The Yukon was found later, completely burned. Police said this is not the work of a "chop shop." The only things missing off of the truck were the tires and the rims.
No one was hurt, but police are concerned the suspect's actions may become more serious.
