ELROY, Texas (KXAN) - Formula One Grand Prix affected Austin in different ways.
Hotels banked big and some businesses called it a huge success. For others, it was a disappointment.
A lot of those headaches came from Elroy where resident met Monday evening to talk about how race weekend went.
For most at the meeting, noise was the No. 1 complaint. Traffic was No. 2.
It's not just the big race weekend there talking about either, homeowners said for the past two weeks from sun up to sun down they hear the roaring engines of race cars.
"I was sitting in my chair trying to read today and it was so annoying I just put my book down I couldn't do it, " said Elroy resident, Cathy Olive.
The Elroy community said they have lost their quiet country lives and nobody cares.
"It's more of a rich man poor man situation, "said Steve Falkney of Elroy, "What ever that want to do they do and don't care what we think and I would like to have something to say about that, "
Several homeowners told KXAN they are putting their property up for sale due to the constant noise and traffic.
But those who remain-- hope the city of Austin and COTA will work with them to find a better way to coexist.
