AUSTIN (KXAN) - The state of Texas has added 18 new designs to its pool of more than 100 specialty license plates that vehicle owners can buy.

Ten of the 11 university plates highlight other states. Three Texas school districts are represented: Bishop Lynch High School, Lake Dallas Independent School District and Prosper ISD.

Texas Roadhouse and the National  Wild Turkey Federation are among styles of new plates offered.

The Houston Rockets and San Antonio Spurs are the only two professional sports teams in this week's plate release, which includes schools from the Big 10 and SEC.

The various plates can be bought online at www.myplates.com . The cost of the plates start at $55 a year, or less than $30 a year when bought for a 10-year term. Plates can also be purchased as a gift or put on layaway.
