AUSTIN (KXAN) - The Texas Comptrollers office will issue a new appliance rebate program this winter.
There is about $10 million left from the first rebate program.
The April program was marred by a website registration failure. By the end of the day on April 7th the rebate program was full, offering interested buyers space on a waiting list.
Despite the popularity, there is $10 million in unclaimed funds that the comptrollers office plans to issue in a second program.
R.J. DeSilva with the comptrollers office said that they are hoping for a December or January launch and will update the public when a date has been selected.
They will be opening bidding for a vendor to handle the new, mail-in rebate program, this month.
The program offers rebates for energy-efficient appliances.
