AUSTIN (KXAN) - For those who still have some last minute holiday shopping there's a unique way to find some of the best deals out there. An Austin couple started a website called "Cheap Tweet".

"CheapTweet is a search engine for deals," said Jenn Deering Davis, Cheif of Community Experience with CheapTweet.com

Davis knows the internet is full of deals and one of the hottest places for stores to publish their sale is on Twitter.

"Anytime anyone on Twitter talks about a coupon or a deal we find, we take it, and we put it here," said Davis

Since no one can follow every store out there, that's where Cheap Tweet can help consumers save some cash.

"Twitter is so overwhelming and we wanted to search through that and sort through it and make it easier for people to find the best deals that way," said Davis.

Austinite Jenn Deering Davis started the website with her husband last year. They tap into Twitter's API to create a list - and it's a long one that changes by the minute.

"Black Friday and Cyber Monday we found 40,000 deals a day," said Davis.

Typically 20,000 deals are posted on an average day. Clicking on the link will take the user to the deal. And if someone wants to follow the store on Twitter, there's a link for that too.

"You don't even have to have heard of Twitter to use CheapTweet you can just come to our website and find the deals," said Davis. "You don't have to be a member of Twitter to find deals."

And users rate if the deal is even worth checking out.

"Our users can go and vote on deals they like and they can give a thumbs down to deals they don't so the system learns which ones are real, which ones are good, and which ones aren't," said Davis.

There’s an option to search for specific items like jeans for instance. Starting next year users can create an account that lists just the stores they are interested in. And the best part - it's free.

"It's always going to be free for users to use CheapTweet," said Davis
