(KXAN) - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of children's bracelets by Chandigarh Fashion due to a lead paint violation.

The surface coating on the bracelets contains high levels of lead, violating the federal lead paint standard. This recall involves children’s bangle bracelets. The bracelets which were sold in packets of 24, are gold with stripes of either red, maroon, black, orange or green.

These bracelets were sold at Chandigarh Fashion stores in Flushing, N.Y. and Sonia Selections stores in Chicago, Ill. from May 2007 through August 2008 for about $2.

No injuries have been reported to the company at this time. Consumers should immediately take the recalled bracelets from children and return the bracelets to the store where purchased for a full refund.
