NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas (KXAN) - As the tubing season starts to wind down, business owners in New Braunfels are hoping for a late surge to prop up their sagging profits.
Some businesses claim their sales have been significantly lower this summer due to the new rules on the Comal and Guadalupe Rivers -- there is still a lawsuit pending against the legality of the new 'can ban.'
While some businesses are feeling the pinch on their bottom line, other businesses are adjusting and making money.
Faust Hotel and Brewery is selling reusable, non-disposable containers that are popular with tubers who want a beer during their float down the river.
"The second we put them on our web site and began advertising people began calling saying they had to have one," said Dana Cummins, manager at Faust.
Faust's Hotel and Brewery charges $25 for the 64 ounce containers -- but they're reusable!
