HAYS COUNTY, TEXAS (KXAN) - A pedestrian was killed when a car hit him from behind on Saturday morning.
The accident happened around 5:15 a.m. in Hays County.
According to the Department of Public Safety, Donald Roberts, 28 of Buda, was struck while walking southbound on the IH 35 access road near mile marker 220.
The vehicle involved, a 2009 Honda Civic, was driven by Nathaniel Villegas, 17 of Buda.
The Honda was also traveling southbound on the access road in the inside lane.
Authorities say Roberts died on the scene and the teen driver was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
DPS says Villegas was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
Officials are not able to say at this time whether he will face charges and the accident remains under investigation.
