TRAVIS COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) - Northbound Interstate Highway 35 was the scene of a road rage incident on Tuesday, and a man is in custody for firing a handgun at another car, according to Travis County Sheriff's Office.
Jesus Antonio Solis-Sevilla, 20, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second-degree felony.
Police received a report from two men in a vehicle heading north on I-35 that a white Toyota four-door was driving erratically, then fired a gunshot at their car. The bullet hit the bottom of the front passenger door and pass through the car's floorboard. They told police the car continued north into Round Rock.
Round Rock Police Department also received a call a few minutes later of a man shooting a handgun near Round Rock High School. That suspect was also identified as driving a white Toyota four-door. Round Rock officers arrested Solis-Sevilla.
The two men who reported the shooting were taken to the scene and identified Solis-Sevilla as the one who shot at the car they were in.
Police found a stolen Sig-Sauer P220 40-caliber semi-automatic gun in Solis-Sevilla's car and at least one expended shell casing, according to the affidavit.
The suspect is being held on $20,000 bond. He did not request appointment of counsel, according to the police report.
