CEDAR PARK, Texas (KXAN) - An 18-year-old is charged with shooting four people in the parking lot of a Walmart in Cedar Park early Sunday morning after a house party.
Three of them were listed in critical but stable condition, and the suspect also required hospitalization.
Police said the suspect, Soloman Onwukaife, was a recent Cedar Park High School graduate. Onwukaife, too, was hurt in the fight and was hospitalized to treat injuries to his face. He was charged on Sunday with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second-degree felony.
"I heard a noise and I thought it was firecrackers," said one Walmart employee who asked not to be identified. "I heard a 'pop-pop-pop-pop.'"
Cedar Park police said the shooting happened around 4:30 a.m. in the parking lot of the Walmart Supercenter near the intersection of Ranch Road 1431 and U.S. Highway 183.
The shooting reportedly stemmed from a fight between a group of people that met in the parking lot after a party.
Cedar Park Police Chief Henry Fluck he believed alcohol had played a role.
Meanwhile, no Walmart employees or customers were hurt.
Monday afternoon, Cedar Park police released the names of the others involved in the incident. They are:
CPPD said three of them remain in the hospital, though they did not specify which of the four.
The investigation is ongoing and police said more charges may be filed
