AUSTIN (KXAN) - Job fairs are becoming more popular as we move from Recession to Recovery.
Saturday, the Austin Independent School District held it's annual job fair.
Last year 1100 people were looking work. This year 1500 turned out.
Officials with AISD say considering the economy, they were expecting a huge turn out.
"Because of issues going on with the economy and people in search of finding the correct locations that we would have more people here today and it turned out to be that way," said Pamela Hall, AISD Human Resources.
AISD is looking for some 600 to 800 new teachers for all subjects including bilingual, secondary math and special education.
