More than 14 pounds of pot found

AUSTIN (KXAN) - Police charged Adrian Mateo Maceiras, 22, and Benjamin D. Peterson, 24 with possession of marijuana, a third-degree felony.

A search warrant was issued and presented on Monday to both suspects, when members of Austin Police Department’s Special Weapons and Tactics Team discovered a marijuana cultivation within the two men's residence.

The cultivation included 66 marijuana plants in various stages of growth and utilized high-intensity lights, transformers, canister filters, fans, testing equipment and other growing paraphernalia. Dried marijuana was also discovered in plain view in several of the rooms.

The aggregate weight of all the marijuana seized from the residence was approximately 14.85 pounds.
