Longhorns sweep Big 12

AUSTIN(KXAN) - Texas junior quarterback Colt McCoy was named Associated Press offensive player of the in the Big 12 on Wednesday.  McCoy is a finalist for all the national player of the year awards and is expected to be named a Heisman trophy finalist next year.

Brian Orakpo made it a clean sweep for the Longhorns.  The senior defenisve is the defensive player of the year in the Big 12.  On Tuesday Orakpo won that same honor voted on by the league coaches.  Orakpo was also named a finalist for the Ted Hendricks award on Wednesday which goes to the nations top defensive end.

This marks the first time UT has had the Big 12 offensive and defensive player of the year in the same season.
