AUSTIN - Lower Colorado River Authority officials have told KXAN Austin News that Western Travis County residents who use water from the West Travis County Regional Water System may now use water for ordinary home use. They are asking residents to hold off on any irrigation, however, until further notice.

The problem was caused by an electrical cable which was accidentally cut early this afternoon. An interim solution has now been found, and LCRA officials will let KXAN know when the water system is suitable for irrigation. There is no need to boil water or take any extra precautions at this time. Stay with KXAN.com for the latest.
