IRVING, Texas (KXAN/AP) - A severe thunderstorm ripped through the Dallas Cowboys indoor training facility Saturday afternoon, causing the structure to collapse.

Just over an hour later, Cowboys media relations told NBC sports four members of the Cowboys' support staff were taken to the hospital.

No players were injured, but latest reports say 12 people were injured, two of those are thought to be serious. Special teams coach Joe DeCamillis was taken from Cowboys headquarters on a stretcher with a neck brace. An assistant scout for the Cowboys was permanently paralyzed from the waist down.

While KXAN has no official reports of a tornado hitting the Valley Ranch subdivision of Irving, people at the scene are reporting via Twitter and telling other media outlets in Dallas they think a tornado hit the facility.

The company that built the Dallas Cowboys' training facility says the roof that collapsed over the weekend had been replaced just last year.

Summit Structures LLC said Monday that proper engineering practices were used when the $4 million facility was built in 2003 and when the roof was replaced. Summit president Nathan Stobbe said in a statement that he's in Irving working with team and local officials to "fully assess this severe weather event."
