AUSTIN (KXAN) - Man charged with aggravated sex assault of a child

Police said a 24-year-old man picked up three teenage girls from school, provided them booze and then sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl.

Authorities responded to the teen's home after her mother called police on May 24, saying Oscar Alvarado-Godoy had sex with her daughter at his home at 7100 East State Highway 290 before taking the girls back to school. The teen told her mother the sex was consensual, and that it had happened first when she was 13, according to the affidavit.

Alvarado-Godoy is charged with first-degree felony charges of aggravated sexual assault of a child.

Clerk, 68, chases away robber

Police said a man in a dress and a teen armed with a caulking gun tried to rob a convenience store, hitting the 68-year-old clerk with the tool on June 7.

Jose Alejandro Romero, 17, is charged with aggravated robbery after police said he went into the Speedy Stop Gas Station at 1660 E. 51st St. just after 4 a.m. and demanded cash.

The clerk initially thought it was a joke because even though he said Romero was holding the caulking gun under his shirt, he told police he could tell it was not real. Still, Romero reportedly continued to yell and became more agitated, scaring the clerk.

The clerk said he was having problems opening the cash register, making Romero increasingly mad. That's when Romero allegedly hit the clerk with the caulking gun.

However, the clerk was able to spook Romero off when he ran into him with a garbage can, which police said caused Romero to flee without any property or cash.

The man in the dress allegedly served as the getaway driver and told police he is a transient and prostitute.

Meanwhile, Romero has not been arrested.

Man arrested for discharging gun during drug deal

Police have arrested a man who they say fired several rounds of a gun with several people standing in the area.

Detectives responded to the 1100 block of east Oltorf to investigate a shooting in the area of an apartment complex. Witnesses told police that the suspect, Antonio Sanchez, 29, was conducting a drug deal with a man known as “Cali”. At some point “Cali” became angry over a money dispute and left the scene in a vehicle while firing a round through the back window.

Several people remained on scene after the initial shots were fired, including the Sanchez. A short time later “Cali” returned with another man, yelling at Sanchez about money. “Cali” then fired 12 rounds at Sanchez and other individuals in the area. One round hit within three feet of a 2-year-old child.

Police learned that Sanchez used a gun to fire back at the two men. According to the warrant, he dispersal of fired shells indicates that two guns were fired.

Throughout the investigation, detectives set up a photo lineup. Witnesses positively identified the alleged drug dealer who fired back rounds as Antonio Sanchez. One witness was able to positively identify “Cali” as Kenneth Moore, while another was not able to do so.
