AUSTIN (KXAN) - With a little more than one week to go in the Austin mayoral election, council candidates are wrapping up their campaign swings through the city.

Two organizations in town are scheduled to host Austin mayoral debates Friday. Mayoral candidates have kept a hectic schedule of forums and debates throughout the campaign season.

The Real Estate Council of Austin and the Austin Chamber of Commerce hosted a mayoral debate on Friday at the Hilton. Austin Community College also set up plans to host a mayoral debate on Friday at 6.p.m. at City Hall.

Early voting started Monday, and turnout, compared with previous elections, is slightly up.

“The number and percentage of voters who cast a ballot was slightly ahead of May election turnout since 2005,” DeBeauvoir said. “It seems that stormy weather couldn’t dampen turnout on the first day.”

Karl-Thomas Musselman, publisher of the Burnt Orange Report, projected 47,746 total votes Thursday, based on turnout numbers and combinations from the 2006 mayoral race and the 2008 council race.

Early voting ends Tuesday, May 5. Here is a list of all of Austin's voting locations.

Below, all five candidates make their closing remarks from the KXAN Austin News mayoral debate:
