AUSTIN (KXAN) - Austin police have released several 911 calls from the night of a deadly police shooting Nov. 6 in North Austin. Rookie officer Will Ray shot and killed Adan Mondragon after a short chase. Police said Mondragon was one of five suspects who fled an aggravated robbery at a home on Blessing Avenue. Two men were shot after what police describe as an illegal card game that ended with two men shot.

Police said Mondragon fired on them with an AK-47. He was also wearing body armor. Four other men ran from the vehicle and two were later captured. The other two suspects, including Volivar Benitez, are still at large.

The 911 calls reveal several people heard the gunshots and many of them were afraid to come out of their homes. "Would you like to be contacted when the officer comes out?" asked one disptacher. "I don't think so, because  them kids be out there every night flying up and down the street in cars and stuff," said one caller. "I don't know what they're up to."
