AUSTIN (KXAN) - Firefighters used a combined air and ground attack to control a fire in the Barton Creek Greenbelt
Fire crews set up in the Westlake Heights subdivision off Highway 360. While ground teams worked in the sometimes dense brush of the greenbelt, a STAR Flight helicopter dumped buckets of water in support.
Some neighbors said it was the worst fire they've seen in decades.
Crews managed to contain the fire to a half acre in a little more than an hour. Crews remained in place putting down hot spots until a little after 4 p.m.
No word yet on what sparked the fire.
