AUSTIN (KXAN) - For the 2nd straight year the Longhorns face a very scary Halloween weekend. Texas plays at 13th ranked Oklahoma State saturday in Stillwater with the Big 12 South lead on the line, not to mention their position on the national landscape.
Last year the Horns went to Texas Tech on this same weekend and suffered their first and only loss of the season.
Texas is coming off arguably their most complete game of the season on saturday when they beat Missouri 41-7 in Columiba.
"We've also told them you have to handle the situation that are ahead of you because your legacy will really be determined by what you do in the next six or seven games, it will not have anything to do with what you did behind it," said head coach Mack Brown. " The guys have to re-start every week and make sure they are excited and ready to play like they were on saturday night. Its hard to come out of OU and be that excited, I thought they were pumped, they were excited, it was a fun night to coach and a fun night to watch them."
On Monday quarterback Colt McCoy was named the Big XII offensive player of the week and named a semifinalist for the Davey O'Brien award which goes to the nations top quarterback. Senior Jordan Shipley was named a one ten semifinalist for Biletnikoff Award which goes to the nations top receiver.
