Fire under control; occupants out safe

AUSTIN (KXAN) - A family narrowly escaped a raging house fire in East Austin Sunday.

The fire broke out in the 5000 block of Imperial Drive, east of Decker Lane and MLK. Six people including a woman in a wheelchair and three children were inside at the time of the blaze. 

"Its a blessing, its a blessing, God is good. Thats the main concern because the house is material thing but the main concern was that everyone's ok," said family friend Helen Blackman.

The fire also sparked a grassfire and set a car on fire.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
