APD:Thefts at apartment parking lots

AUSTIN (KXAN) - Austin police are warning those who live in apartment complexes to be aware of their surroundings after some robberies have been reported.

In a citizen alert email sent out Thursday afternoon, Austin police say three men are targeting people near their cars in apartment complex parking lots. The men are taking wallets, purses, car stereo equipment, and car keys.

The robberies are happening between the hours of 11pm and 1am, police say.

So far, the men have struck at apartment complexes on Burton Drive and Willow Creek Drive, but police want to send the warning out to the public before these three men strike again.

Officers do not have a good description of the suspects. If you have any information about these reported robberies, police ask you to call Crime Stoppers at 472-8477.
