AUSTIN (KXAN) - The Austin Community College Pinnacle Campus in Southwest Austin will remain closed through Wednesday due to the electrical outage that happened last week.

Though school officials canceled classes until noon that day, it has been extended to a full week due to the electrical outage.

Austin Fire Department crews arrived on the scene to see smoke in the building in the 7700 block of West US 290 at the Austin Community College Pinnacle building in Southwest Austin last Wednesday around 6:45 a.m.

Investigators said the smoke was from a small electrical fire on the ninth floor of the building, and they had the fire extinguished by 7:13 a.m. Officials said the damage was confined to electrical components.

Classes are expected to resume Thursday, and students are asked to check course Blackboard site for class information.

All other campuses will have classes as scheduled. Only the Pinnacle campus is affected.
