AUSTIN (KXAN) - Wild Bill of the Week

This week’s “Wild Bill” was sponsored by Rep. Vicki Truitt, R-Keller, for a bill she sponsored to make Grapevine, TX the state’s “Christmas Capitol.” The Representative hit a roadblock, however, when Rep. Paula Pierson, D-Arlington, argued that her city was the true Christmas Capitol.

Because the title brings in some tourist dollars, a group of House members came together to kill the bill.

”In the end a village of grinches stole Christmas,” said Truitt.

The Bad Precedents: Lawmakers jam out after work

They might fight on the chamber floor, but when the Capitol closes, a bipartisan group of lawmakers get together for a jamming session. Democrat Rep. Jim Dunnam, D-Waco, plays keyboard for the band, the “Bad Precedents.”

Conservative Senator Bob Deuell, R-Greeville, rocks it on the drums. When time allows, the group gathers to entertain constituents and fellow members.
