Austin (KXAN) - Yoga isn't just for adults, kids are getting in on the exercise routine as well. And it apparently offers them more than just a little play time.
Inside the Goddard School in Cedar Park, 2 year olds are doing yoga. In fact it has become apart of their daily routine.
"Yoga actually helps kids concentrate better because a lot of the yoga poses require gazing off into the distance," said Butch Aggen, the owner of the Goddard School.
Better concentration skills mean a better ability to read and do math, plus there's always the benefits of exercise.
"Starting at such an early age it really helps with muscle control," said Manda McNelly, a teacher at the Goddard School.
Even kids as young as 6 months are learning yoga. While they aren't really sure what's going on, and some toys look more interesting than sitting with mom it's all about having a good time.
Other locations that offer baby and toddler yoga include Yoga Yoga and Austin Kula Yoga.
