AUSTIN (KXAN) - The UT Longhorns defense dominated in the game against the OSU Cowboys Saturday night with a record crowd at Boone Pickens Stadium.
The Longhorns opened up the scoring with a field goal in the first quarter. Then Cody Johnson barely crosses the goal line, jumping Texas out to a 10-0 lead.
Oklahoma State had their chances, but the Longhorns defense dominated again. Zac Robinson's pass was intercepted by Curtis Brown, who had an escort of blockers 77 yards the other way for another non-offensive touchdown. The Longhorns lead 17-0 before the Cowboys get on the board.
Garrett Gilbert finished out the game for Colt McCoy. Colt completed 16-of-21 passing for 171 yards and a touchdown to Malcolm Williams. The defense forced five turnovers, improving to 8-0 and clearing a big hurdle to the BCS.
Right before the half Colt McCoy tossed it into the end zone with Malcolm Williams tiptoeing in for the touchdown.
Defense iced it in the second half with Earl Thomas and his second pick six of the season. They forced five turnovers and the fourth quarter wasn't even a factor. Texas shells Oklahoma State 41-14.
Horns are 8-0 and in control on the Big 12 South. They'll step out of conference next week against Central Florida here in Austin. Kickoff set for 11 a.m.
