MANOR, Texas (KXAN) - On Wednesday, Police found a student with a gun at Manor High School.

The Manor High School resource officer, also a Travis County Sheriff's Deputy, was responding to a report of a student smoking marijuana in a high school bathroom.

The officer identified several suspects using the school's video surveillance system. The officer tracked these students to their classroom, where they indicated that they had smelled marijuana smoke and observed another student leave a bathroom stall.

Reevaluating the surveillance footage, the officer identified the suspect described by the other students and followed his movements through the halls through surveillance.

The student, Damion Milligan, was brought to an office for questioning.

He denied smoking marijuana in the restroom and acknowledged that he had smelled it. Milligan consented to a search. During the search the officer found no marijuana, but discovered firearm cartridges.

When asked if he had a firearm, the suspect said "Yes, I do". A 38 caliber revolver was found in his front waistband under several layers of clothes. The deputy confirmed that students often wear multiple layers of clothes to conceal contraband.

Damion Milligan is charged with unlawfully carrying a weapon in a prohibited place, a third degree felony.
