Cedar Park, TEX(KXAN) - The Texas Stars introduced head coach Glen Gulutzan on Wednesday afternoon at the new Cedar Park Center. The 37 year old Gulutzan will take over the Dallas Stars American Hockey League affiliate after spending the last six years coaching the Las Vegas Wranglers to a record 254-124-55 and five playoff appearences.
"Being latched on with Dallas and just the success they've had over the last ten years is huge, they're going to make sure this team is good so we're going to be very fortunate," said Gulutzah. "I think the fans in Austin will be very happy with the product that comes on this ice and this venue for sure."
The Stars begin play in the brand new Cedar Park Center this all, the arena will seat 6800 for Hockey games.
The Stars will play in the AHL's Wester Division of the Western Conference and have two built in rivals San Antonio Rampage and Houston Aeros. The Stars will play pre-season game against the Dallas Stars on Wednesday, September 30th at the Cedar Park Center.
