Fort Hood soldier dies in barracks

His death is under investigation

FORT HOOD, Texas (KXAN) - Fort Hood officials have released the name of a Soldier who died in his barracks room Oct. 29.

Spec. Russell Allen Richardson, 26, whose home of record is listed as Big Bear Lake, Calif., entered active-duty service in December 2008 as a motor transport operator. He was assigned to Company D, 1st Battalion, Warrior Transition Brigade, since December 2010.

Richardson's awards and decorations include Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and Army Service Ribbon.

Cause of death is under investigation.
