AUSTIN (KXAN) - Austin Salutes STC Spc. Milton Nichols of Lockhart with the 1st Battalion, 67th Armored Regiment.
He graduated from Luling High School in 2008 and joined the Army in 2009 and is currently serving his first tour in Afghanistan.
Milton married his high school girlfriend in December of 2010. They currently have 2 children, 4-month-old Eric and 2-year-old Kadince.
He left for Afghanistan as a newlywed when his wife was just four months pregnant with Eric, and by a stroke of luck he just happened to be born when his dad was on leave for a week.
Milton is now on his tenth month in Afghanistan and is due to return home this May.
