AUSTIN (KXAN) - KXAN Austin News continues its legacy of market leadership Tuesday with the launch of High Definition newscasts.

“KXAN Austin News is pleased to offer High Definition newscasts to our tech savvy Central Texas viewers,” said President and General Manager Eric Lassberg. “In addition, we will offer superior graphics and on-air tools for a weather forecast that is detailed and easy to understand.”

KXAN Austin News worked with the Emmy award-winning scenic and lighting design firm FX Group to design a visually creative and flexible news set that will be used for all newscasts. KXAN Austin News has upgraded with state of the art HD studio cameras, HD weather forecasting equipment and HD graphics.

“High Definition newscasts and cutting edge visuals highlight our commitment to quality and clarity, in both content and presentation,” said News Director Michael Fabac.

Viewers began seeing the new HD broadcasts Tuesday during the noon broadcast on KXAN Austin News.

“I am extremely grateful for the skilled and persistent teamwork of our management team and our entire staff in bringing this memorable milestone to fruition,” said Lassberg.
