On Friday, April 5 the W Hotel will play host to a celebration of the many ways the American Red Cross brings hope and comfort to the community in times of disaster and despair.
Hosted by co-chairs Hannah Nokes and Terri Broussard Wiliams, Luminaria is a cocktail-style celebration honoring three Central Texas heroes while guests enjoy a gourmet menu, live entertainment, and dazzling cocktails in a trendy downtown setting. Kendra Scott, Dell Inc., and Bill Dorman are this year's honorees.
Kendra Scott will receive the Lady Bird Johnson Humanitarian of the Year award for her support of numerous organizations supporting women's health and advancement in addition to her involvement with the American Red Cross.
The Public Partner of the Year award recognizes a company, organization or public agency that stands with the Red Cross and its mission. Dell, Inc. is this year's recipient for its generous donation of equipment and funds for the American Red Cross digital disaster operations center. Also known as DigiDOC, this operations center gives the Red Cross real time reports and communications via social media which strengthen the ability of the Red Cross to respond with services and emotional support during times of disaster.
Named for the late Greg Coleman, a former American Red Cross of Central Texas board member, Bill Dorman is the recipient of this year's Greg Coleman Tribute Award. He has provided key leadership in disaster relief efforts in Central Texas and across the country.
Tickets are available for purchase and all proceeds will benefit the American Red Cross of Central Texas.
