AUSTIN (KXAN) - A Capital Metro bus hit a man crossing the street in Downtown Austin Thursday evening.
The bus driver was making a left-hand turn from Eighth Street onto Colorado Street just after 5 p.m. when it happened.
Paramedics treated the man, who was lying facedown near the crosswalk in front of the bus. Austin police said the man was breathing and conscious after he was hit, but he was taken to the hospital.
The sign on the bus indicated it was the Route 174 bus, and there were only two passengers and the driver aboard.
Police blocked off the intersection at Eighth and Colorado streets after the accident, but the road reopened by 6:30 p.m.
