AUSTIN (KXAN) - People were evacuated from a St. Edward's University building after a high-rise alarm at 3001 S. Congress Ave. Smoke was visible on the first and ground floors of the campus building, though no injuries were reported.
"Smoke was detected in Holy Cross Hall, and the building was evacuated," said Michelle Decrane with the Austin Fire Department.
Decrane said the source of the smoke was the result of a burnt out air conditioner motor. The scene was cleared shortly after 2 p.m., and everyone was allowed back into the building.
