Winter weather closings, delays

AUSTIN (KXAN) - As we receive lists of closings and delays due to winter weather, KXAN Austin News will post them here.

Schools

• ACC will reopen all campuses and centers at 9 a.m. on Wednesday.  Classes scheduled to begin before 9 a.m. are canceled.
• Austin ISD All district activities and events scheduled for this evening—including all athletic events—are cancelled. AISD anticipates operating on a normal schedule on Wednesday, February 24.
• Austin Discovery School closed at 1 p.m. No word on schedule for Wednesday.
• Austin Waldorf School closed Wednesday due to nearby chemical fire in the morning.
• Bartlett ISD: Buses will run 2 hours late. School starts at 10:00 a.m.
• Bastrop ISD Pre-K through fourth grade will start at 9:45 a.m. and fifth through twelfth grades will start at 10:30 a.m. District officials will continue monitoring the overall situation and notify parents and staff if conditions develop that would require BISD to modify school operations and related activities.
• Carver Elementary School will have a 2-hour delay Wednesday.
• Concordia University classes and offices will open at 10am on Wednesday at the main and North Lamar campus.  Classes held as scheduled Tuesday night.
• CornerStone Child Development Center in Pflugerville has a delayed opening by two hours. It opens at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24.
• Coupland ISD will open at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
• Dripping Springs ISD will have a two hour delayed start on Wednesday.  Buses will run two hours late.
• Eanes ISD 6th Grade Choir for tonight is rescheduled for March 2. All Eanes Community Education classes are canceled for Tuesday, Feb 23. They will also operate on a two-hour delayed start on Wednesday.
• Elgin ISD Afternoon and evening activities are cancelled for Tuesday evening. On Wednesday, classes will begin two hours later than normal. Buses will also run two hours later than usual.
• Georgetown ISD Georgetown ISD schools and offices will operate on a two hour delayed start tomorrow, Wednesday, February 24, 2010. All buses will run 2 hours late.
• Granger ISD: Opening at 10 am on Wednesday
• Giddings ISD: School will start at 10am on Wednesday. Buses will run regular routes, 2 hours late.
• Harper ISD in Gillespie Co. Buses will run 2 hours late on Wednesday. School will start at 10am
• Head Start classes:

1. Burnet Head Start & Early Head Start -- 2 hour delay
2. Bagdad Head Start in Leander - 2 hour delay
3. Bartlett Head Start Center - 2 hour delay
4. Florence Head Start -- 2 hour delay 
5. Harris-Ross Head Start in Taylor -- 2 hour delay 
6. Highland Lakes Head Start in Granite Shoals -- 2 hour delay
7. Hutto Head Start -- 10:30 opening
8. Liberty Hill Head Start -- 2 hour delay
9. Marble Falls Head Start -- 2 hour delay
10. Mary Bailey Head Start Center -- 2 hour delay
11. Rawleigh Elliott Head Start 0-5 Center -- 2 hour delay
12. Round Rock Head Start -- 2-hour-delay

• Hutto ISD: All elementary schools will start at 10:30 a.m. and secondary schools (middle and high), they will start tomorrow morning at 10:45 a.m.
• Jarrell ISD will start classes at 10 a.m. and buses will run two hours late Wednesday, February 24.
• Lake Travis ISD will continue to monitor this weather event through Wednesday morning.
• Leander ISD will have a two hour delayed start on Wednesday. Buses will run two hours behind their normal schedule. All morning only classes such as Pre-k classes are cancelled, as are morning practices and activities. Afternoon Pre-k will be held as normal.
• Lexington ISD will start classes at 10 Wednesday morning.
• Marble Falls ISD will be delayed 2 hours Wednesday Buses will run 2 hours behind normal schedule.
• McDade ISD will start at 10am Wednesday
• New Hope First Baptist preschool in Cedar Park will start at 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday.
• Pflugerville ISD  Will start school two hours late on Wednesday. All evening activities on Tuesday, including UIL activities will be rescheduled. The UIL Basketball Playoffs date is rescheduled for Wednesday February 24 at the original scheduled time.
• Pflugerville ISD has canceled its Community Forum, scheduled for 7 p.m. tonight.
• Redeemer Lutheran school and preschool will open at 10:00 Wednesday
• Rockdale ISD will start two hours late on Wednesday
• Round Rock ISD Will have late starts on Wednesday. K-5 will start at 9:45 a.m and dismiss at 2:45 p.m. Morning PreK will run from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Afternoon PreK will run from 12:45-2:45 p.m. Morning PPCD will run from 9:45-11:45 a.m. Afternoon PPCD will run from 11:45 a.m.-1:45 p.m. All after school activities and events - including all athletic events - are also canceled. Any additional information or updates will be sent out via the district e-News and will be posted on the district's Web page, www.roundrockisd.org.
• Round Rock Montessori School will delay their opening on Wednesday until 9:30 a.m.
• San Saba ISD will start at 10 a.m. with buses running 2 hours late.
• Smithville ISD delayed 2 hours Wednesday
• Southwestern University will re-open at 10 a.m. on Wednesday.
• Taylor ISD schools will be released one hour earlier than usual today (the campuses have different release times). They'll run buses two hours later than normal Wednesday, February 24.
  
• Temple College in Taylor will be closing at noon today. Classes will start at 11a.m. Wednesday
  
• Thrall ISD will start class at 10 am Wednesday. Buses will run two hours later than the normal time. Classes are normal schedule today.
  
• TX Empowerment Academy is closing at 2pm today. School is still scheduled to start on time Wednesday morning.
  
• Texas College of Traditional Chinese Medicine canceled classes and the Student Intern Clinic will close at 5 p.m. on Tuesday.
• Twin Lakes Child Development Center in Cedar Park will open at 10 a.m.
• University of Phoenix Killeen chapter closing at noon.
• UT Shuttles will run on a two-hour delay
• Wimberley ISD Buses will run 2 hours late on Wednesday with the school start time of 10:00 a.m.
• Wiggles-n-Giggles Child Development Center in Bastrop will have a delayed opening at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 24
• Zion Lutheran School will start Wednesday at 10 a.m. Students may start arriving at 9:30 a.m.
   

Events/Meetings

• Tonight's Red Bench program has been canceled.
• The Parks and Recreation Board Meeting schedule for this evening at 6:00 p.m., at City Hall, has been cancelled due to inclement weather conditions. The meeting has been tentatively rescheduled for Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at 6 pm, at the Parks and Recreation Department Main Office, board room, 200 South Lamar Blvd.
• Austin Ballroom Dancers will not meet tonight
• Austin Sign Language School (ASLS) has canceled 2/23/10 evening classes at Westover Hills Church of Christ.

Government Offices/Community Centers and activities

• Austin Ballroom Dancers will not have class tonight.
• Williamson County offices will close at 3 p.m., Tuesday, February 23, 2010, due to weather related conditions. All county offices will re-open at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 24. Please check the Williamson County website at www.wilco.org for changes and additional information.
• The Austin Parks and Recreation Department has temporarily closed the following pools: Barton, Balcones, Dick Nichols and Stacy. These closures are necessary due to the safety hazard posed by the accumulation of snow and sleet on the pool's decks. The pools are expected to re-open tomorrow, weather permitting.
• Burnet city offices will open at 10:00am.
• All Eanes Community Education classes are canceled for Tuesday, Feb 23.
• TCEQ offices will open at 10am Wednesday
• TX Empowerment Academy is closing at 2pm today. School is still scheduled to start on time Wednesday morning.
• The Texas Lottery Commission closed for the day on Tuesday. They will reopen at 10 a.m. on Wednesday.
• Williamson County early voting locations are closing at 3 p.m. on Tuesday. They will reopen Wednesday at 9:30 a.m.
• All non-essential personnel at Travis County should leave early at 3pm.
• The Parks and Recreation Board Meeting schedule for this evening at 6:00 p.m., at City Hall, has been cancelled due to inclement weather conditions. The meeting has been tentatively rescheduled for Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at 6 pm, at the Parks and Recreation Department Main Office, board room, 200 South Lamar Blvd.
• The City of Austin has issued an early closure of City offices effective at 3 p.m. today due to hazardous road conditions and inclement weather. City employees who are designated as non-essential are being released from duty effective at 3 p.m. and for the remainder of this evening and through the early-morning shifts. An early morning weather evaluation will be made to determine the re-opening time for City offices for Wednesday, Feb. 24.
• All Travis County early-vote polling places close at 3:00 PM today and will re-open at 9:30 am Wednesday, February 24.

• The Vipers Boys Basketball playoff game has been moved to Wednesday at 5PM at Bruceville-Eddy.
• The Lady Vipers soccer game against Lake Travis scheduled for tonight has been moved to Wednesday at 6PM at Vandegrift (Monroe Stadium).
• Vandegrift vs. West boys basketball playoff game moved to Wednesday at 5pm at the Bruceville-Eddy gym.
• All after-school Round Rock ISD school athletic events are postponed tonight. Soccer games are moved to Thursday and the McNeil-Cypress Woods boys basketball playoff game will is now Wednesday in Bryan at 7:30pm.
• Lake Travis-McCallum boys basketball game is moved from Cedar Park TONIGHT to the Burger Center at 6pm.
• Pflugerville ISD UIL activities will be rescheduled. The UIL Basketball Playoffs playoff date is rescheduled for Wednesday February 24 at the original scheduled time.
• Austin ISD Sports: The Lake Travis-McCallum boys game that was supposed to be tonight at 6pm at Burger is now Wednesday at 7pm at Cedar Park. LBJ-Hutto boys is now Wednesday at Westwood high school at 7pm. Regan-Hendrickson boys is now Wednesday at Round Rock high school at 7. LBJ-Hendrickson girls is now Wednesday at Delco at 7pm. They are still waiting on official place and time but the Bowie-San Antonio Regan boys’ will now be Wednesday as well.
• Dripping Springs ISD: All after-school sports are cancelled for Tuesday
• Giddings ISD: The playoff basketball game will be on Wed., Feb. 24 at Luling at 7pm.

Services

• WBC Opportunities Meals on Wheels program will not be delivering meals today in Williamson and Burnet counties.
• Blood Center donor centers will close today at 4:00 pm. The Blood Center will resume with normal business hours Wednesday, February 24.
• Capital Area Rural Transportation System delayed until 10am Wednesday morning.
