West Lake HS sees whooping cough cases

Two confirmed cases have parents on alert

WESTLAKE, Texas (KXAN) - A couple of confirmed cases of whooping cough at West Lake High School have parents on alert.

The school sent a letter sent out to parents Monday noting an increase in the number of whooping cough cases.

The school is urging parents to look out for the following symptoms:

  • runny nose
  • nasal congestion
  • sneezing
  • red, watery eyes
  • a mild fever
  • dry cough

If your child has any of these symptoms, the school is urging them to go see the doctor and to stay away from school.
