AUSTIN (KXAN) - As H1N1 vaccine deliveries continue to trickle into Texas, doctors and patients are becoming increasingly frustrated.
Less than 3 million doses have arrived in Texas, which is significantly behind many other states. Among those waiting for their first delivery is the UT Health Services. The delay is starting to bug them.
Health Services Director Jeanne Carpenter is eager to vaccinate her staff.
"Our health care providers are a priority for the vaccine," said Carpenter. "We're seeiing many cases of H1N1 in the health service, so they're a priority."
As health clinics do receive the vaccine, their patient priority list includes pregnant women, children ages 6 months to 4 years, children 5 to 18 with health risks, and health care providers themselves.
Production of the vaccine is expected to pick up soon, with 13 million doses due in Texas by January.
