Da Vinci Robot surgery hits Austin

AUSTIN (KXAN) - A new robotic surgical system arrives in Austin, and KXAN spoke with Dr. Peter Ruff, a surgeon with Urology Austin , about how surgical patients can benefit.

It's called the Da Vinci Robotic Surgical System, and Seton Medical Center Austin is the most recent hospital to acquire this model - the first appearance of the dual console da Vinci system in Central Texas.

Dual console indicates two surgeons able to operate using the da Vinci at the same time, which is the latest model of the surgical system.
