AUSTIN (KXAN) - Lead singer Dave Grohl wanted to make a film about the band’s 16 years together as they started their new album.
Grohl is the band’s lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist and primary songwriter. He is a former drummer for Nirvana and Scream. Born in Ohio, his family moved to Washington, D.C., where his parents divorced when he was 6. He’s played guitar since he was 12.
What is clear in the documentary is that the creation of Foo Fighters’ music has a lot to do with where they all came from.
“It was real and it was honest,” director James Moll said was GroHl’s comment about the movie, though there were moments that the film made him "uncomfortable."
