AUSTIN (KXAN) - Filming for the second season of "The Lying Game" brought attention to Austin City Hall on Thursday as the building donned a costume-of-sorts and was turned into a place in Arizona.

Instead of Austin City Hall, the sign hung above the front steps read "Maricopa County Courthouse" for a time as the production crew was inside, using City Council Chambers as a courtroom.

The show is produced by Alloy Entertainment and Warner Horizon Television for ABC Family channel. The story of the series is based in Phoenix, but filmed in Austin, much of it at Austin Studios , 1901 E. 51st St.

According to IMDb's website , the story follows Emma (Chando), a kind-hearted foster kid who can't catch a break. She finds out she has an identical twin sister, Sutton (also played by Chando), who unlike Emma was adopted by wealthy parents and is seemingly living an ideal life. After their initial meeting, Sutton talks Emma into stepping into her life for a few days while she pursues a lead on their birth mother. Initially excited to do this favor for her sister, Emma soon learns that Sutton has gone missing and could be in trouble. Now, Emma must decide whether to come clean to Sutton's family and risk her own safety in the hope of uncovering her twin sisters true whereabouts, along with the truth about why they were separated in the first place.

According to a story published Tuesday in TV Guide , a new cast member joins the group for the show's second season. Former "90210" actor Ryan Rottman will play the role of "Jordan," a character from Beverly Hills. He will appear in the season opener in a motorcycle race scene.

The show has a rating of TV-14.
